What to Wear Where | Summer Concert

Tomorrow, I'm kicking off Memorial Day Weekend with the Dave Matthews Band concert at Jiffy Lube Live. I've actually never seen DMB, even though UB owner Alicia is a huge groupie...I mean fan. But I have been going to the infamous outdoor amphitheater for country concerts and Jimmy Buffet (a fellow Virginia native) since high school. The tailgates are as much of a draw as the concerts, and planning what to wear is as important as planning the menu. Naturally, I've been plotting the perfect look for my first DMB concert for days, which also had me thinking about the best options for any summer concert.

I'm loving the boho dresses, and while it is going to be cool in VA tomorrow, this flowy cold shoulder style would be perfect with flip flops for a hot summer day (or night).

For now, I'm thinking palazzo pants are a better idea. I'm obsessed with our new super wide leg tie dye ones. On a hot and sunny day, the unique lace panel allows extra air. Plus they're easy to pull up when you're sitting on the lawn.

Since it will still be a cool (and maybe cold) spring night, I might opt for this maxi instead. Even though it's a skirt, maxis are so flexible and comfortable, making it easy enough to still spread out on the lawn. By the way, you can't go wrong with the waist band on either of these...

If you're one of the lucky ones in the pavilion, and not on the lawn where you might want to be more free in your leg movements, pair a cami with light denim skinnies. This spring green pair is amazing with our Scarf Hem Cami, though I'd lose the pumps for the concert. On a warmer night, crochet shorts are all the rage and perfect for sitting cross legged on the lawn.
